Goodhue County Jail Roster and Warrant List

The Goodhue County Sheriff posts a combined jail roster and warrant list through the county's online portal. You can access it at Goodhue County Jail Roster/Warrant List. The roster shows everyone currently held at the Adult Detention Center (ADC) in Red Wing. The warrant list shows people with active warrants who may not be in custody yet.

Having both datasets on one page is useful. A person might appear on the warrant list but not the roster, meaning they have an open warrant but have not been arrested. Others appear on the roster only, held on new charges without a separate warrant. In some cases a person shows up on both. Checking the two lists together gives a more complete picture of someone's current legal situation in Goodhue County.

Goodhue County Booking Reports and the Law

Under Minn. Stat. § 13.82, basic arrest data is public in Minnesota. The Goodhue County Sheriff must release names, charges, booking dates, and the arresting agency on request. This cannot be refused. Private fields in a booking file, such as medical records and mental health notes, are withheld under separate provisions.

The booking report captures what was known at the time of arrest. It does not reflect what happens in court. Charges may be dismissed, reduced, or result in acquittal after a booking record is created. To see how a case resolved, check the court record through Minnesota Court Records Online. Goodhue County cases are handled in the Third Judicial District, and those court records are free to search.

Minn. Stat. § 13.87 covers how criminal history data is stored and shared by criminal justice agencies. If the Sheriff's Office denies any part of your request, it must tell you which statute applies. You have the right to know the reason for any withholding.
